Just unfasten the latches and open the hatch. Having opened the hatch, gradually take out the filter. No need to detach the filter if they are installed on the walls.
The filter must be thoroughly cleaned with the help of a vacuum cleaner. This is done by running the filter on the hose of the vacuum cleaner. Having cleaned the filter in this fashion, we notice the amount of dust that was deposited on it. The very look of the filter has changed from a dusty grey to a bluish and little translucent.
Make sure, there is no sign of dirt and grin on the filter surface. Again, turn off the cleaner and reinstate the filter at its place. Also, close the hatch by securing the latches.
People often neglect to maintain and clean their air conditioning filters and wonder why their air conditioner always fails after a while or it takes longer and longer to cool their rooms.
